Here is Denny, an 8-year-old Golden/lab born at Southeastern Guide Dog School to be trained as a guide dog for the blind.
We raised him for a year and half and sent him back to school for his formal training. They always told me that the dog decides but I always laughed. After raising three pups before him and two after we decided he was the smartest dog we had ever met and he would fly through his training and graduate with high honors, but Denny had other ideas.
He changed his career and came back to us to be our family friend and therapy dog. Now the difference is that a therapy dog visits schools, nursing homes and hospitals. He is special that he does tricks during his visits and entertains all ages. Contact us if you would like a Denny visit. Mcchessylvia@yahoo.com.
