Established | March 14, 1964. Formerly called Roach’s Beach, the town changed ownership in 1952 and adopted the new name.

Major events | Annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, an auto show featuring antique cars and several street festivals including a barbecue and bluegrass event in March and a fall family festival. Sunday Serenades concert series runs at a park beside the library featuring local acoustic musicians.
