What’s new | After a nearly two-year legal battle, Mayor Jake Evans was sworn in and took office July 1, 2013. Evans has vowed to clean up Atlantic Beach and keep Bikefest after Gov. Nikki Haley says she wants to put an end to it after Memorial Day weekend resulted in several shooting-related deaths. Evans wants to end the bad reputation of Atlantic Beach and use his term as mayor to make improvements.
