A new restaurant is bringing authentic Greek dishes to the Market Common area. Owner Anastasia Daskalis describes Salty Sugar as “a taste of Greece in Myrtle Beach.”

Located at 1550 Farrow Parkway, Salty Sugar launched its soft opening mid-June and plans to have a hard opening sometime in the future. The eatery is currently open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to management.

Like the name suggests, Salty Sugar offers a variety of Greek sweets and savory dishes in a combined bistro and bakery. Fans of the loukoumades, fried dough balls with honey sometimes called Greek donuts, sold at the Myrtle Beach Greek Festival can find the goodies year-round at Salty Sugar.

Other dishes on the menu include gyro, crepes, Greek salad, spanakopita and more. Staff say the pastitsio – a layered, baked pasta dish often described as Greek lasagna – is a “must-try” favorite.

“We stand behind every dish with a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee,” the Salty Sugar website boasts. “If you’re not completely thrilled with your experience, we’ll make it right – because true Greek hospitality means treating every guest like family.”
