Popular Mexican restaurant in downtown Myrtle Beach closed. Will it reopen? What we know
Banditos Cantina, located along North Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach, has quietly closed.
It is not know if it’s a temporary closure or permanent.
On Thursday, a note was found on the front door of the restaurant stating, “Banditos Cantina is closed until further notice, we are sorry for the inconvenience.”
Its Facebook also says, “Banditos Cantina is temporarily closed.”
The Mexican restaurant is located on the second floor of THEBlvd, 1410 N. Ocean Blvd, right across the street from The Funplex Myrtle Beach. Yelp says the location should reopen on April 30, but The Sun News was not able to confirm the information.
The restaurant’s phone number has been disconnected and no one responded to messages to its social media accounts at time of publication.
Banditos consistently posted content on social media until Jan. 31. There have been no posts since.
If Banditos Cantina closes for good, that will leave the second floor of THEBlvd empty. Epic Arcade, a restaurant-arcade formerly located on the first and second floor, closed down in late 2020 after not being able to pay rent, according to The Sun News.
The second floor contained the restaurant portion of Epic Arcade and no other business has moved into the space.
Myrtle Beach Anime, an anime merchandise store, opened in the former arcade on on the first floor.
