A new Cuban restaurant opens in North Myrtle Beach. It’s offering free appetizer for June
North Myrtle Beach’s first locally-owned Cuban restaurant opened this month in the city.
Cuba Bar and Restaurante opened June 12, and offers a variety of Cuban cuisine such as plantains, meat entreés and desserts that include roasted pork and rice pudding. Guava smoothies and Cuban coffee are also available. The menu is written in both Spanish and English.
Restaurant manager Laura Scalzo said the restaurant has been doing well so far and that most customers have been satisfied with the food. A Facebook post reviewing the restaurant wrote that the food was “delicious.”
Scalzo recommended the shredded beef — ropa vieja — with rice and black beans to potential customers. She also said that Cuba Bar and Restaurante is holding an opening special for the month of June, in which the appetizer, croquetas de jamón, will be free. The appetizer consists of ham covered in breadcrumbs and then deep fried.
Most entreés are between $12.99 to $18.99. All desserts are $2.99.
The restaurant is located on 70 Highway 17 South, which is next to Robert Edge Parkway, and is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day except Monday.
