March Madness: Watch the NCAA tournament from these 7 Myrtle Beach area bars this weekend

March Madness is in full swing as college basketball teams battle for a spot in the Final Four in the championship game April 4.

Here’s a list of some of the sports bars where you can eat, drink and watch the game in the Myrtle Beach area.

The Barrel Sports Bar & Grill

2303 S Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach

Opens noon until 10 p.m. daily. Closed Mondays.

This local staple has a daily happy hour from 4-6 p.m. which features discounts on house liquors, domestic draft beers, and appetizers. The casual spot has entertainment such as pool tables and video games. Only patrons aged 21 and up are permitted after 9 p.m.

Sportsman Bar & Grill

4735 S Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach

Opens noon until 2 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Opens 2 p.m. to midnight Sunday, and 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday.

This local bar serves lunch and dinner and offers darts and has pool tables.

Thorny’s Steakhouse & Saloon

600 S Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach

Opens 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Opens 3:30-10 p.m. Thursday. Closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Located in downtown Myrtle Beach, Thorny’s boasts more than 50 TV screens and an expansive menu serving a everything from craft beer to ribs to steaks to seafood, including a kid’s menu.

Murphy’s Law Sports Bar

8703 Highway 17 Bypass South, Surfside Beach

Opens 11:30 a.m. until 11 p.m. daily. Open until 2 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Murphy’s televises a wide variety of sporting events and features sports memorabilia decor and a daily happy hour.

King Street Grille

3040 Howard Avenue, Myrtle Beach

Opens 11-2 a.m. daily.

Located in The Market Common, this sports bar features both indoor and outdoor patio seating. Its March Madness special is $3 Michelob Ultra bottles during all NCAA tournament games. The regular daily happy hour is 4-7 p.m.

Dead Dog Saloon

4079 Highway 17 Business, Murrells Inlet

Open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Open until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

This family-friendly spot on the Marshwalk features big-screen TVs. The daily happy hour includes discounted food and drinks from 4-6 p.m.

Carolina Ale House

2915 Hollywood Drive, Myrtle Beach

Opens 11 a.m. daily. Closes 11 p.m,. Sunday through Wednesday. Closes at midnight Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

This sports-themed family restaurant has a hefty beer list.
