Charleston chef, author win James Beard Awards

Two Charleston food professionals won 2015 James Beard Awards at a gala May 4.

Jason Stanhope of FIG was named Best Chef: Southeast, while cookbook author and television personality Nathalie Dupree was among five named to the James Beard Foundation Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America.

The James Beard Awards, known as the Oscars of the food world, are the highest honor for food and beverage professionals. The awards include chefs and restaurateurs, cookbook authors and food journalists, restaurant designers and architects, and more.
