Kentucky Derby event to raise funds for school

The Home and School Association of Holy Trinity Catholic School will host a Kentucky Derby Food and Wine event May 2 from 3-6:45 p.m. at The Brentwood Restaurant and Wine Bistro, 4269 Luck Ave., Little River.

The event includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, dessert and wine. There will be music, a hat contest, mint juleps to purchase, a silent auction, live auction, mystery envelopes, heads or tails game, and the finale is the running of the Kentucky Derby race shown on a big-screen TV.

Tickets are $65 in advance, $75 at the door. The event will help fund enhancements to the school’s academic program by providing state-of-the-art technology, science equipment and library materials, and it also will enable the school to upgrade its basketball court, playground and outside picnic area.

Tickets are on sale at The Brentwood, the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce and Our Lady Star of the Sea box office after Mass Saturday and Sunday.
