Drinking beer, being with friends, and watching sports are just some of the reasons a great many people spend their time at bars, taverns, pubs. The Carolina Tavern takes this to the extreme, with televisions at booths and the only tap tables in the Grand Strand.
Those two features are sure to be the first thing guests notice when walking into the tavern, and no doubt part of what keeps people coming back. At the tables with televisions, they can change the channel to whatever they’d like to watch, from games to children’s shows. The tap tables allow guests to be their own bartender with two taps and a small screen that keeps track of the flowing beer and price.
The tavern also offers a nice selection of bar food, from wings to ribs, plus loaded fries, nachos, and potatoes. Just about everything they serve comes loaded, in fact. The burgers are a half pound of meat sandwiched between a potato roll and can come with just about anything you want on it, especially for the guests who choose to build their own.
Otherwise customers can choose from a multitude of creative burgers. For instance, there’s the tavern burger, with barbeque sauce and fried onion rings, or the volcano burger that has been made with hot butter then topped with spicy salsa and sauce and fried jalapenos.

Other meals include steaks, soups, sandwiches, even chicken marinated in beer. Off to the left of the entrance there is a small salad bar that guests can visit as a side to some entrees or as their meal of choice. Many guests prefer the tavern flats, which are big pieces of flat bread smothered in toppings, such as the delicious Scampi Flat that comes with shrimp, broccoli, red peppers, and melted cheese on top.
Sides can be fries, sweet potato tots, grilled vegetables, coleslaw, or mashed potatoes. As is the tavern’s trend, some of these songs can be upgraded and loaded with cheese, bacon, or even chili. The serving sizes are quite generous and the prices remain well within budget. No matter what guests choose, surely no one leaves The Carolina Tavern feeling anything but full.
The restaurant has a fantastic lunch special from 11a.m. to 3p.m. every weekday. For just $8.99 guests can have salads, wings, and fries – all they can eat. Daily specials are also offered, like Monday’s $.69 boneless chicken wings, or combo specials on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
On top of all the great deals, this restaurant also regularly hosts events and holiday specials, particularly those “holidays” that have to do with sports. Team Trivia is a popular night to drop by, especially with prizes to be won.
