Pomeranian's Passionate Response to a Fire Truck Is Music to Our Ears

Dogs are nothing if not opinionated. Whether they're taking a hard stance on which treats they love (or hate), people they adore (or don't), and who's allowed to go down their street making noise. Of my two dogs, I have one very vocal Corgi who will bark/howl with all her heart if anyone so much as looks in our direction.

Gary, the Pomeranian, is the same, except his ilk is when a loud fire truck (his neighbor) cruises by with the siren on full blast. This is Gary's signal to warn the house that there's danger, and he's in charge of taking care of it!

It wouldn't be a day ending in "y" if Gary didn't use his voice for something important! He's not all about finding the perfect stick or meeting with HR (Mom) about any unapproved shenanigans. Sometimes he has a higher purpose, and today is that day-we should all thank the brave Pomeranian for alerting us to such terror!

Doing the Lord's work isn't all Gary does on any given day. This little cutie-pie has the difficult task of, as I mentioned, keeping shenanigans and epic zoomies strictly to his job description-no one else's. Rules aren't always meant to be broken, and if Mom or anyone steps over the line, you can bet the feisty pup is already on his way to get them fired.

Then, and only then, will another ambulance drive by so Gary can yet again show off his amazing pipes. Even if you consider his reaction dramatic, it's so courageous and definitely deserves some kind of award, right?

Why Dogs Howl at Sirens

Anyone with a certified yapper will tell you that all sirens are fair game for dogs to scream at. The high-pitched frequency sounds similar to another dog's howl. Because of their instinctive pack mentality dating back centuries, they have a primal desire to respond or communicate with the "dog" in need.

So basically, Gary really is some kind of hero to dogs everywhere!
