Backstage News: WWE Interested in Bringing Back Legendary Tag Team

WWE is reportedly interested in reuniting with one of the best pro wrestling tag teams of this generation.

Last week, it was reported that WWE is on the verge of bringing back Baron Corbin, who currently performs as "Bishop Dyer" in Major League Wrestling. Corbin, however, may not be the only notable talent to return to WWE.

According to a report from BodySlam.net, the contracts of FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) are about to expire.

The duo reportedly signed four-year contracts with All Elite Wrestling in 2023, but the looming option year on the deals gives Wheeler and Harwood the opportunity to leave. Additionally, WWE is said to have some "interest" in signing FTR:

"There has also reportedly been at least preliminary interest from WWE communicated through mutual contacts as the situation continues to draw attention internally," BodySlam.net reported. "At present, there is no indication a departure is imminent, though FTR's future beyond the current option year remains unclear."

The legendary tag team competed as The Revival in WWE. Harwood and Wheeler used the ring names of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, respectively.

During their time in WWE, the pair won five tag team championships (two NXT, two Raw and one SmackDown). They became the first tag team to win each of the three WWE tag team titles.

The Revival Had a Bizarre Exit From WWE

In early 2019, it was reported that The Revival requested to be let go from their WWE contracts. At the time, as fans know, Vince McMahon and Triple H were hardly willing to grant such requests from disgruntled superstars.

Finally, WWE released The Revival from their contracts in April 2020. Soon after, photos leaked of the costumes for the outrageous tag team gimmick McMahon had planned for Wilder and Dawson.

The two debuted for AEW on May 27, 2020, and have been employed by the promotion ever since.
