Baby Elephant Ferociously Stood His Ground Against Safari Tourists
A baby elephant chose to stand his ground when a safari tried to pass by him and his mother.
In a TikTok video posted by ABC7 News in Chicago, a woman caught the adorable moment a baby African Elephant tried to charge safari tourists in South Africa, while his mother grazed nearby. In the video, the baby stood his ground and tried to charge at the tourists as they stopped in front of their truck.
"Young African elephants may perform mock charges toward other elephants, animals, or even vehicles to mimic adults who use these behaviors for protection," they explained. "At the same time, just like human babies, elephant calves explore the world around them through play."
Their attempts at charging are instinctive, but are also definitely adorable when they are babies. It's also sometimes "simply fun" for them.
The elephant project added that "Even at just a few years old, these little ones are learning the behaviors that will help them thrive for years to come."
