French Bulldog Asked What He Does for a Living-'I Nap Like I Worked a Double Shift'
Some dogs have jobs to do-herding, hunting, driving, and guarding livestock. Reggie the French Bulldog also has a very demanding schedule and he's dog tired.
The TikTok from @reggiethefrenchi asks one simple question: "So what do you do for a living, sir?"
Reggie's answer:
"I wake up. I love everyone too much. I follow mom everywhere. Then I nap like I worked a double shift."
That's all of it. That's the whole day and he is exhausted.

And every single French Bulldog parent watching nodded because that's exactly what Frenchies do. Wake up. They love aggressively. Become your tiny shadow. Then, collapse like they've been doing blue-collar labor for 16 hours.
The comments got it:
"Heavy on the ‘follows mom EVERYWHERE'."
"'Nap'. Dude, frenchies go to Narnia."
That's so accurate. Frenchies don't just sleep. They look like they enter another dimension. They snore louder than your grandfather with sleep apnea. You often have to check if they're breathing. And they do this after about 47 minutes of being awake.
What Makes Frenchies This Way
The American Kennel Club has documented what French Bulldog parents learn fast:
They become dead weight on command. A 25-pound Frenchie can somehow transform into 200 pounds of immovable object. You're not walking them. You're pulling furniture across the house.

Your lap is their only acceptable bed. They can have multiple beds scattered all over your house-mine do. They don't care. If you're sitting, they're sitting on you. Your comfort doesn't factor in. You are their favorite piece of furniture and lovey all rolled into one.
They're surprisingly deep thinkers. You can see it on their faces.
Frenchies often stare into space contemplating life's deepest mysteries. "Does existence have meaning without treats?" "Why do humans leave the house?" Heavy stuff.
They're useless as guard dogs. They're too friendly and would probably watch someone rob you while wagging their tails. However, they'll bark once when someone's at the door, then consider their work done.
They think they are great athletes and can catch things-tennis balls, toys, literally anything thrown their way. They cannot. The confidence is impressive though.
Toys don't stand a chance. Even "indestructible" toys last about 13 seconds with a determined Frenchie.
They're gassy and shocked about it. Every. Single. Time. "Did you hear that?" Yes, Reggie. We all did. It was definitely not silent.
Back to Reggie's ‘rigorous' schedule. Is this objectively easy? Yes. Does it somehow feel exhausting? Also, yes.
Because, honestly, loving everyone takes a lot of emotional energy. Following mom everywhere requires dedication and commitment. And napping that hard? Serious work.
Frenchies are playful, fun-loving and entertaining, but they're not built for marathons. They're built for short chaotic bursts followed by long periods of unconsciousness. They've figured out the perfect life formula: do the bare minimum, love hard, follow your person everywhere, and, most importantly, sleep like you earned it.
Reggie isn't lazy. He's just clear about his priorities. Make sure mom doesn't sneak off without him. Then recover from that exhausting vigilance with a four-hour nap.
That's not unemployment. That's a lifestyle.
