Get into the holiday spirit with these Myrtle Beach, SC area winter markets

When the Thanksgiving season comes to an end and diners emerge from their turkey-fueled slumbers, vendors will string up lights and pack their wares for an array of local holiday markets.

Whether you’re looking to get your hands on some unique gifts for loved ones or just get into the winter spirit without leaving the sun and sand of the Grand Strand behind, these markets just might have what you seek.

Boasting dozens of local artisans, bountiful food options and activities for all ages, these holiday markets will soon welcome Myrtle Beach area residents and visitors into their own little winter wonderlands.

Conway Rivertown Christmas Celebration Market

When: Dec. 11th and 18th, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Where: 209 Laurel Street, Conway

Conway’s Rivertown Christmas Celebration Market is part of the city’s broader Rivertown Christmas Celebration, during which shoppers can browse the market or the town’s many shops until 8 p.m.

All events at the celebration, from candlelight shopping to encounters with Curtis the camel, are completely free.

The Hangout Holiday Market

When: Nov. 29, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: The Hangout, 1181 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach

Enjoy holiday cheer at the popular and always lively Broadway at the Beach eatery, The Hangout.

This holiday market will feature more than 20 local vendors, as well as live music, food, games and more.

Entry to the market is free, and many local businesses will be present.

North Myrtle Beach Holiday Market

When: Nov. 29, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: 799 2nd Avenue North, North Myrtle Beach

The North Myrtle Beach Holiday Market will feature numerous local businesses selling their handmade gifts, artisanal foods, jewelry, local produce, gourmet drinks, local honey and more.

The market is lauded as a way to support local businesses while enjoying holiday festivities.

Wicked Holiday Market

When: Dec. 13th and 20th, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: The Wicked Tuna, 4123 US-17 BUS, Murrells Inlet

The fifth annual Wicked Holiday Market offers fun for all ages with local vendors, free crafts, and photo opportunities with Rudolph, Frosty and Santa.

Admission to the market and photo opportunities are free. Visitors are also able to dine and drink at the numerous restaurants neighboring The Wicked Tuna.

Surfside Beach Holiday Market

When: Tuesdays through Dec. 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. plus Dec. 13 and Dec. 20, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Memorial Park, Corner of Surfside Drive and Willow Drive North, Surfside Beach

The Surfside Beach Holiday Farmers Market features local vendors selling local produce, artisanal soaps, hand-poured candles, potted plants, handmade jewelry and more. Offerings may change weekly.

This year’s market will also extend into two bonus markets, during the Christmas Parade on Dec. 13 and the Golf Cart Parade on Dec. 20.

Valor Park Holiday Market

When: Saturdays through Dec. 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: 1120 Farrow Parkway, Market Common

The Valor Park Holiday Market in Market Common is home to numerous local vendors selling food and artisanal goods that make for unique gifts.

Whether you’re looking for a handmade gift or locally-harvested fruits, vegetables and eggs, this market has it all.

Winter Wonderland at the Beach

When: Nov. 28 to Jan. 4, varying times with light display lit nightly from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk

The Winter Wonderland at the Beach in Myrtle Beach features nightly light displays along the boardwalk, as well as numerous activities and shopping opportunities throughout the holiday season.

Visitors can enjoy the oceanfront lights display as they shop at First Friday Art Walks on Dec, 5 and Jan. 2, experience live entertainment, participate in a race or bike ride on Dec. 9 or 11, or visit Santa’s workshop for crafts and carols on Dec. 13.

Coastal Carolina University Holiday Park Lighting & Market

When: Dec. 2, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Where: Blanton Park, 100 University Boulevard, Conway

The Holiday Park Lighting and Market at Coastal Carolina University is a university tradition especially for CCU students, staff, faculty and families.

The event features a holiday market with unique gifts and goods.
