PhotoSpin.com

Beach days and amusement park rides aren’t the only way to spend a stay in the Myrtle Beach area.

When night falls on the Grand Strand, musicians from near and far take the stage at local bars and restaurants.

For visitors looking to dance the night away to some live tunes, or those who want to enjoy food and drinks with some musical ambiance, there are many places in the area to catch a show.

Here are seven venues where you can enjoy live music near Myrtle Beach.

Murrell’s Inlet MarshWalk

Live music can be heard every night, year-round at the Murrell’s Inlet MarshWalk.

The MarshWalk, a popular spot to grab some bites and beverages, features a variety of live music venues near the water, both indoors and outdoors. At least eight restaurants on the MarshWalk typically offer live performances.

The MarshWalk is located in nearby Georgetown County, at 4025 Highway 17 Business.

The Bowery

The Bowery in Myrtle Beach is known for regularly hosting rock and country bands for long nights of live music.

The self-proclaimed “eighth wonder of the world” is open seven days a week, with live music starting at 8:30 p.m. nightly. It has long had a reputation for live music, including being the launching point for Alabama, who was the venue’s house band from 1972 to 1980.

It has been offering live entertainment since 1944. Shows are for those 21 and older unless otherwise stated.

Visitors can also enjoy cold drinks and food from Duffys, the tavern at the venue.

The Bowery is located at 110 9th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach.

Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar

Serving up cold drinks and live tunes for more than 35 years, Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar is a popular pool bar at Sands Ocean Club Resort in Myrtle Beach.

The bar, and its pool, are open to the public — no shoes or shirts necessary.

Ocean Annie’s calls itself “the biggest beach party on the Grand Strand,” and hosts a variety of live bands.

The venue is located at 9550 Shore Drive in Myrtle Beach.

Local on the Water

For those looking for a sit-down meal accompanied by live performers, Local on The Water offers a broad menu of both meals and nightly music performances.

The restaurant and music venue hosts live artists nightly, as well as some occasional ticketed events.

With a daily happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. and music typically starting at 6:30 p.m., Local on the Water comes alive as the sun starts to set.

Local on The Water is located at 1525 13th Ave. North in North Myrtle Beach.

Barefoot Landing

Barefoot Landing’s SummerFest will bring live music to the shopping center every night through Aug. 25.

Live music performances take place across three stages nightly throughout the summer. All performances are free and weather permitting.

SummerFest also includes weekly fireworks shows and strolling entertainment such as stilt walkers.

Barefoot Landing is located at 4898 Highway 17 South in North Myrtle Beach.

Broadway at the Beach

Similar to Barefoot Landing’s SummerFest, Broadway at the Beach is celebrating Broadway’s Summer Nights through Aug. 24.

Free live music performances are scheduled for each week throughout the summer, along with weekly fireworks, comedy shows, and other performers. Venues within the shopping center also host their own live music shows.

Broadway at the Beach is located at 1325 Celebrity Circle in Myrtle Beach.

Landing at the Boathouse

Landing at the Boathouse is a casual restaurant offering comfort food and free live music. The self-proclaimed “Best backyard in town” has in-house craft brews that can be enjoyed with a lively ambiance and views of the Intracoastal Waterway.

The venue features local, regional and national bands for no cover charge. Their “Free Show Friday” shows have been a popular event for 12 years running, and they are also offering “Sunday Funday” shows each week for free this summer as well.

Saturdays at the Boathouse are dedicated to tribute artists, and are a great way to see some of your favorite tunes played live.

This venue is located at 201 Fantasy Harbour Blvd. in Myrtle Beach.
