An explosion of flavor contrasts the simple façade in this Conway restaurant, and that flavor keeps fans coming back time after time. Margaritas Mexican Restaurant is one of two in the area, owned by the hard-working Onate family, who came to the United States to realize their dream.
Both locations have been around for a number of years now and because of a family oriented attitude and a passion for food, the team at Margaritas fits in very well with our Grand Strand community. Plus, they have an extensive menu with decent prices and daily deals that keep business steady throughout the seasons.

Though the name might make you thirsty, a glance at the appetizers alone will get your stomach rumbling. An array of nachos, dips, wings and ceviche will greet your feasting eyes, though complimentary chips and two types of salsa will be promptly brought to your table. From there, it’s simply a matter of examining all the meal choices.
Lunch specials last from open to 3 p.m., and have dozens of meals to choose from. These entrees and the combination plates allow a lot of variety, so guests can have a little bit of everything, or perhaps just multiples of their favorite food. Lunch items can be enjoyed during dinner hours for an additional dollar.
Most meals will come with sides such as rice and beans, and the occasional side salad and appropriate toppings. Entrees can be made with different meats, from chicken to chorizo, and vegetarians have a menu of their own.
Specialty entrees step it up a notch with familiar favorites like quesadillas, fajitas and enchiladas. Some other recipes on the menu may be less well-known but sound just as amazing, such as the Pollo Pepe and Guadalajara Special, to remind the Margaritas family of their roots.
The team in the kitchen has also flexed some of their muscles to create the Monster Burrito, a massive amalgamation of steak, rice, beans and vegetables that are crisp with freshness. This impressive meal is then lightly topped with a green salsa that on its own would be quite spicy, but ends up complementing the many ingredients.
Adults so inclined will of course be interested in the restaurant’s namesake, and there is a good amount to choose from. Whether traditional lime or other fruity flavor, individual-sized or in a pitcher, there is a margarita just for you. The smaller of these popular libations are part of a daily Happy Hour special, where guests can enjoy one frozen or on the rocks for only $3.
Though a bit smaller than the sister restaurant in Myrtle Beach, the Conway location has just as much to offer, whether guests are in the mood for Tex-Mex or an authentic Mexican dish. So if you’re in town or simply passing through, a visit to Margaritas always goes down smooth.
