Handcrafted wooden boat models sail in exhibit at Waccamaw Library
The Georgetown Wooden Boat Show, on Front Street in Georgetown (843-520-0111 or woodenboatshow.com), isn’t till Oct. 21-22, but anyone who wants to see some other boat art can sail away with a library exhibit.
Handcrafted model wooden boats by William “Bill” Brady, an Air Force retiree, are on display into March at the Georgetown County Library Waccamaw Neck branch, 41 St. Paul Place, Litchfield Beach, off Willbrook Boulevard.
Brady also has donated models of a lat-bottomed oyster sloop and the Browns Ferry Vessel, to the S.C. Maritime Museum in Georgetown, and the Sea of Galilee Boat, to St Peter’s Lutheran Church in Pawleys Island.
The library is open 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays, and 2-5 p.m. Sundays. Details at 843-545-3623 or georgetowncountylibrary.sc.gov.
