‘Art in Common,’ new museum exhibits to open, make autumn festive

Two sites with an array of art have new showcases:

— Seacoast Artists Guild’s “Art in Common” arts and crafts festival, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 23-24 in Myrtle Beach’s Valor Memorial Garden, on Farrow Parkway, at The Market Common. 843-232-7009 or www.seacoastartistsguild.com.

— Two exhibits open Sept. 28, both going through Dec. 14 – “Grand Strand Collects,” a showcase of works borrowed from private collections along the Grand Strand, in various media, and “Jocelyn Chateauvert: The South Carolina Arts Commission Turns 50,” a site-specific installation of light and unique, whimsical shapes, created from handmade paper, at Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon P. Chapin Art Museum, 3100 S. Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach – 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays and 1-4 p.m. Sundays. Free. 843-238-2510 or myrtlebeachartmuseum.org.
