Museum of Coastal Carolina shifts into autumn schedule
The Museum of Coastal Carolina, 21 E. Second St., Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., has begun its fall schedule, open 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays through Dec. 30 – but not Oct. 20-21, Nov. 23 and Dec. 25, and open Dec. 26-27.
Special programs, free with admission, include:
— “Story Time” with therapy dogs from Canine Angels, 11 a.m. Oct. 7, Nov. 4 and Dec. 2.
— Touch tank feedings with docents, 11 a.m. Fridays.
— Children’s craft or activity, 11 a.m. Saturdays (but not Nov. 4 or Dec. 2)
— Monthly “Sand Bar Lecture Series,” 6 p.m. Tuesdays, with “Straws” film on Sept. 19, “Ghosts of Brunswick County” Oct. 17, “The Aging Brain” Nov. 14, and “Sweet Tooth Christmas” Dec. 12.
— “Low Country” art exhibit by Bobbie Scheller.
Museum admission is $9.50 ages 13-61, $8.50 ages 62 and older, $7.50 ages 3-12, and free ages 2 and younger, and for military and veterans (with ID) plus one guest. Details at 910-579-1016 or www.museumplanetarium.org.
