Fun Run and 5K participants, spectators and marathoners themselves gathered Friday afternoon gearing up for Saturday’s race at the Grande Dunes Myrtle Beach Marathon Kickoff Party.
Overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, the Tim Cook Band provided live music while attendees enjoyed a pre-race pasta dinner and various festivities.

Ha-Ha the Clown was on hand for face painting, and a balloon artist created balloon animals of all shapes and sizes.
As runners lined up, Splash the Pelican was there to cheer the runners on and welcome them back across the finish line.
This year’s Family Fun Run stretched one mile along the Marina Parkway, a change from last year’s venue at Ripley’s Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach.
