The popular festival in downtown Myrtle Beach was canceled in 2012 after 60 years. Many locals and visitors have missed having the festival. It was an event that had been part of their entire lives and provided a lot of memories.
The festival will be held at Plyler Park June 3-5. It will not be the only event on the Boardwalk, the Native Sons Salt Games is also planned for that weekend.
Visitors to the Sun Fun Festial can enjoy a parade, live beach music, free shag lessons, kids games and more.

In other festival news, another popular festival will not be returning to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.
The Oceanfront Merchants Association has canceled the St. Patrick’s Day Festival that was scheduled for March 12.
