The largest festival in the Southeast is May 16 & 17. It’s the annual Blue Crab Festival in Little River SC.
The Blue Crab Festival began in 1981 as a small festival to highlight the waterfront. Since then it has grown to a two day festival that attracts more than 50,000 visitors.

The festival features over 200 arts and crafts vendors, along with specialty food vendors, live entertainment and a children’s area.
Of course, you will get to enjoy blue crabs along with other fresh seafood from local restaurants participating in the festival.
The performers include Jill Charles, Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot, Carolina Breakers, The Hip Pocket Band and Jim Quick & Coastline. Click here for the schedule.
The festival is Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, May 17 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Advance tickets are $4 for 1 day or $8 for two days. Day of admission is $5 per day. Children 12 and under are free with a printable pass.
