Myrtle Beach SC tops in USA Today's 10 Best Spring Break Destination Poll

NorthMyrtleBeach-FeaturedMyrtle Beach has become the No. 1 favorite spring break destination in the country, according to the results of USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Poll.

The Grand Strand was recognized for its family-friendly atmosphere.

Myrtle Beach beat out nominees such as Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Cancun; Daytona Beach, Fla.; and Montego Bay, Jamaica.

“The Myrtle Beach area prides itself on being an affordable, world-class family beach destination that visitors can enjoy year-round,” said Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “We are grateful for all who voted in this poll, and are excited to welcome returning guests and first-time visitors to the Myrtle Area this spring, summer and fall.”

Listed below are the rankings for favorite spring break destination, according to the USA Today 10Best poll:

2. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
3. Cocoa Beach, Fla.
4. Atlantic Beach, N.C.
5. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
6. Daytona Beach, Fla.
7. Rio Grande, Puerto Rico

10. South Padre Island, Texas
