Things To Do

2015 Marks the Record-Breaking 30th Season for The Carolina Opry!

The Carolina Opry is back.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, buckle up…the Carolina Opry is back and better than ever.

The Carolina Opry is hitting the ground running for 2015 with a bevy of changes to rock your world. And for the first time ever, the theater will present 5 different productions, including a new, original production, “Thunder and Light”.

Among the 2015 season shows are the beloved classic Carolina Opry, the Good Vibrations show, The Carolina Opry Christmas Special, Thunder and Light starring All That!, and a unique laser light experience called simply LIGHT Laser Extravaganza —each boasting the highest production quality.

The Carolina Opry implements changes from year to year to keep its content fresh, new and groundbreaking. The one thing Calvin Gilmore doesn’t tamper with is the level of world- class talent and production values that visitors have learned to expect on the Opry’s stage.

The Opry’s classic show, TCO, welcomes back bluesy vocalist Bibis Ellison for her second season alongside the hip hop clogging group All That!, famous from NBC’s America’s Got Talent, and a cast composed of over 35 of the world’s most award-winning vocalists, musicians, and dancers. Expect new songs, fresh elaborate costumes, and sidesplitting comedy to delight even those guests who have seen the show many times over.

Feeling good?  Good?  Good, good vibrations.

Returning after yet another successful season, the Carolina Opry’s Good Vibrations is a fast-paced, high-energy show that brings

you the best music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, blended with comedy, accompanied by rich multimedia screens, special effects and

elaborate costuming—all performed live by the award- winning cast of the Carolina Opry.

Calvin Gilmore has some major changes in store for Good Vibrations in 2015 as it takes you on a virtual tour back to the decades that brought us the best in American popular music.

And the Thunder rolls…

The all new “Thunder and Light” show starring nationally renowned clogging group All That! combines a multi-million dollar laser light show and features magicians Brandon and Hannah Wagster.

The show gives you exclusive original choreography by All That!, thrilling contemporary music, interviews and background on the group, the same multi-colored 5-laser show that toured with Pink Floyd and Madonna, and some incredible magical illusions. It’s pretty impressive.

New Performing Arts Series

The Calvin Gilmore Theater looks to 2015 expecting to welcome a number of well-known artists of various genres throughout the

year as part of Gilmore’s brand new Performing Arts Series. To start things off, famed storyteller Garrison Keillor will take the stage on January 25 at 6 pm.

Other artists will encompass a number of genres, including music, comedy, politics and authors.

The full line-up of the new Performing Arts Series is still under lock-and-key, but it will evolve into an 8- or 10-performance series and will be available as a series pass or by individual performance.

Bells will ring, jing-a-ling-a-ling

The magic of the season comes alive in a dazzling, jolly, and sentimental musical celebration of America’s best-loved holiday.
