Myrtle Beach offers many exciting events and activities along the Myrtle Beach boardwalk, but not many visitors realize that the downtown are is more than just the area along Ocean Boulevard.
Visitors looking to see a different side of Myrtle Beach, can do so by venturing a few block inland for the 5Points Spring Fling Festival, set to be held Saturday, June 21 from noon to 5 p.m.

This event is free and open to all Myrtle Beach visitors and residents and will feature a varietyof festival activities taking place along Broadway Street between 4th Avenue and 6th Avenue North in an area known as the "5Points District."
“We’re inviting the entire Grand Strand community to come together and celebrate the growth and unity of our historic downtown area,” said 5Points Business Association chairman Carrie Crosby.
The 5Points Spring Fling Festival will feature art exhibits, a dessert tasting, live music, a bake sale, a cake walk, food vendors and a sidewalk sale.
During this day-longe event kids will be able to enjoy great Myrtle Beach activities including clowns, hula hoop contests, face painting, pick up ducks, and football toss.
All those attending the Spring Fling Festival will receive a free “Fun Passport” and those who have their passports stamped at 20 area businesses will be eligible for a prize drawing.
This event is the latest in a string of things aimed to promote growth and interest in revitalization efforts downtown.
“We’re seeing a level of energy and optimism that’s been missing downtown for many years. Things are moving quickly in a very positive direction," said Crosby. " The 5Points Business Association is working diligently to shape 5Points Myrtle Beach into an exciting visitor destination in the very heart of the Grand Strand.”
