It’s finally here. Yes, that’s right the tourism season is now in full swing as June is now here in earnest and the area’s schools are letting out for the summer — it’s nothing but days of sun and sand ahead!

For many, Summer means sitting outdoors and listening to great live music and there are plenty of great summer concert series happening around the area including Hot Summer Nights, Music on Main, Surfside Sunday Serenades and The Boathouse Summer Concert Series.

There’s also a pair of big name acts headed to town this week in country star Josh Turner and Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers.

And if you’re looking for something a little classier to do this weekend, perhaps wine tastings and culinary events of Coastal Uncorked food festival will serve you well, or other awesome cultural happenings like the art museum’s Ansel Adams display.

Here’s a look at some of the week’s top tourist-friendly events from our Calendar page. You can also visit MyrtleBeachEventsCalendar.com for a look at all the local events from The Sun News, Weekly Surge and Kicks! Entertainment Guide:

Seafood fans know they’re in for a treat when the catch of the day catches their eye before they even make it to the table. This month, The Flying Fish will be celebrating their eighth anniversary in North Myrtle Beach.

First-time guests will notice right away that the restaurant also is a market, with some of that day’s haul on display, including entire fish on ice gazing woefully through the glass. This fresh food is one of the many reasons The Flying Fish is so popular, with the business promising less than 48 hours between boat and plate.
