Since coming under new ownership in 2012, the entertainment options at the Myrtle Beach Speedway have steadily grown, giving this long-running automotive attraction a distinct “new raceway” smell.

With a lineup full of exciting events that includes top-notch racing action, the Wheels of Destruction stunt show and seasonal fun like haunted houses, 5K runs and the upcoming Myrtle Beach Bikefest, it’s safe to say the 1/2-mile raceway is determined to keep things fresh despite being built during the Eisenhower Administration.

One of the most popular of the newer attractions at Myrtle Beach Speedway is the NASCAR Racing Experience, a unique ride which offers visitors the chance to ride along at speeds over 100 mph in a real-life stock cars that have been driven by the likes of Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and other NASCAR superstars.

And for truly devoted race fans, it even offers the chance to pilot a car around the 0.538-mile asphalt track on your own, giving you a once-in-a-lifetime driving experience.

Our team hit the road recently to check out this Myrtle Beach attraction and came back with this footage of what it’s like to ride.

Seafood fans know they’re in for a treat when the catch of the day catches their eye before they even make it to the table. This month, The Flying Fish will be celebrating their eighth anniversary in North Myrtle Beach.

First-time guests will notice right away that the restaurant also is a market, with some of that day’s haul on display, including entire fish on ice gazing woefully through the glass. This fresh food is one of the many reasons The Flying Fish is so popular, with the business promising less than 48 hours between boat and plate.
