Only SC location of fast food chain known for its tacos opening in Myrtle Beach area
The Myrtle Beach area will soon be home to the only South Carolina location of a national fast food chain.
Del Taco, a fast food chain known for its Mexican and American dishes, is set to open its only location in the Palmetto State on July 1. The new franchise will be located at 4570 Dick Pond Road in Socastee, near a recently opened Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.
While Del Taco previously operated other locations in South Carolina, the state has been without the Mexican fast food chain for several years when the previous locations closed. The Socastee location marks the reintroduction of Del Taco to South Carolina.
Del Taco is known for its titular tacos, also serves burritos, quesadillas and burgers. Founded in 1964 in California, the chain has since expanded to operate more than 500 locations across the United States, primarily on the West Coast.
Impeccable Development and Impeccable Restaurant Group, who operate several other fast food chains across the Grand Strand, will operate the Socastee Del Taco, but they are not stopping at just one location.
Shortly after the first Del Taco location opens, a second South Carolina location will open in Little River. While Impeccable Development has not announced a specific opening date yet, the Little River Del Taco, located at 2508 Highway 9 East, is expected to open later this year.
