The Marshwalk in Murrells Inlet is largely known as a spot located off the tourist-heavy path in Myrtle Beach.

It tends to draw more locals and offers a look at the salt marsh way of life sometimes overlooked by vacationers hoping to spend a week on a sandy beach.

The Marshwalk has nine restaurants overlooking the South Carolina waters, all of which come highly rated across rating platforms. The Sun News examined reviews from Google, Yelp and TripAdvisor to rank the restaurants.

Here are the nine Marshwalk restaurants ranked from worst to best.

Sloppy Jose’s serves Mexican food with Southern flare. Menu highlights include the chorizo crab dip and a well-loved margarita. There is also a pirate ship playground that excites parents and children.
