A local seafood chain in North Myrtle Beach plans to close temporarily before reopening under new ownership.

As of Sept. 2, Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar and Grill North Myrtle Beach, 661 Main St., is closed, according to a Facebook post. It is unclear when the new owners will reopen the oyster joint.

The Sun News reached out to owner Don Cauthen Tuesday morning but did not hear back before publication.

Dirty Don’s is a well-known spot for oysters in the Grand Strand. It has two other locations, one in downtown Myrtle Beach and one in Market Common. The North Myrtle Beach spot opened the summer of 2020, The Sun News reported.

The Myrtle Beach area restaurant serves oysters for less than $1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., as well as dishes like oyster Rockefeller, oyster shooters and blackened oysters. Other staples include a seafood boil, burgers and a variety of shrimp.
