People have taken to social media to show where you can get a trendy Mediterranean chocolate delicacy in the Myrtle Beach area.

The videos are getting thousands of views and drawing excitement that the chocolate has made its way to the Grand Strand.

The expensive chocolate bar full of oozing pistachio filling known as Dubai chocolate can be found in strawberry desserts, coffee, cheesecakes and the regular chocolate bar.

The original handmade chocolate bar from the United Arab Emirates costs about $18, but many other Myrtle Beach area shops have their own take on the original recipe that ranges from about $10 to more than $24.

The creamy dark chocolate bar has been making waves this summer especially with novel treats like the strawberry cups cropping up worldwide.

One viral TikTok video, which got more than 150 comments and around 185,000 views, showed a couple spending $24 on a cup of strawberries topped with the Dubai chocolate and whipped cream at the King Corn kiosk at Broadway at the Beach.

What is Dubai chocolate?

The original chocolate bar which oozes out a filling of pistachios and shredded bits of filo dough known as kataifi was created by Fix Dessert Chocolatetier in the United Arab Emirates.

The creator, Sarah Hamouda, was inspired by her pregnancy cravings.

She said in one of her business’ promotional videos that she would send her husband to Dubai to get her different desserts and chocolates to satisfy her pregnancy cravings.

They were great, but never scratched the itch, she said in the video.

So she created what social media called the “Dubai chocolate bar” which Fix called “Can’t Get Knafeh of it,” named after a Middle-Eastern dessert.

She relied on influencers to market the dessert when her business was created in 2021, and now the chocolatey pistachio-filled phenomenon is here in the Myrtle Beach area.
