There are so many restaurants that call Myrtle Beach home that it would be difficult for a vacationer to find a part of the Grand Strand where there aren’t eateries.

There are so many restaurants in the area that Myrtle Beach has more per capita than famous dining destinations like Paris and Rome— almost 2,000 eateries.

The number of restaurants along the Grand Strand can make choosing a new place to try difficult, especially for vacationers traveling to Myrtle Beach for the first time during the 2024 summer. If you’re looking for help finding the next restaurant worth trying, Tripadvisor and Yelp say these eateries are the best.

Indeed, several restaurants on the list are either new to the Grand Strand or have summer specials for the 2024 season. Zeytin, a Mediterranean-style breakfast and brunch eatery in Carolina Forest, opened before Valentine’s Day 2024.

The eatery features several varieties of breakfast, including dishes like PIde, a flat bread plate with fillings like steak and onions, and other options sometimes referred to as ‘Turkish Pizza.’

Drift, another breakfast and brunch place open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., recently refreshed its drink menu, adding mocktails, mimosas and Aperol Spritz, said eatery General Manager Carlos Ramirez. Ramirez added that lobster omelets and duck Benedict are also popular dishes. Giovanni Carapelli operates Portofino with his wife and said the Italian-themed eatery also adds seafood specials for the season.

Carapelli said specials include the Grouper Elba, a braised grouper fish served with crab meat and asparagus on top of angel hair pasta. Carapelli also said lobster ravioli and lobster trio, a six-ounce lobster tail, tiger shrimp, and scallop on tortelloni will be featured. Other restaurants might adjust their hours for the summer.

Heirloom Bistro owner Sharon Treffeisen said the eatery, a farm-to-table concept establishment, will run some specials but is also considering opening for lunch on some days in addition to its regular open hours Tuesday through Saturday between 4 p.m. and closing.
