A new Zaxby’s just opened in Murrells Inlet. More could be on the way to the Grand Strand
Zaxby’s is expanding in the Grand Strand region.
A new Zaxby’s location opened Monday, June 12 at 11872 Highway 707 in Murrells Inlet. The new restaurant will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and has drive-thru and delivery available through DoorDash and Uber Eats.
Zaxby’s will also be hiring 40 employees to run the store, and prospective candidates can apply by visiting the restaurant.
The new location is owned by Greg Cater who says he wants his store to be a part of the local community.
“We try to focus our business model on the residents,” Cater said. “We want people to know who we are because we are hands-on operators.”
Cater owns two other Zaxby’s locations in Charleston, SC, and says he wanted to expand into the Grand Strand because he and some of his family live in the area. The process to open the store took 18 months and the location is projected to generate over $3 million in sales a year.
More stores could be coming in the future, Cater added. The franchisee is looking to expand into other growing residential markets throughout Horry County— North Myrtle Beach and Carolina Forest were listed as potential places— but Cater said no plans were set in stone at this moment.
