This is Myrtle Beach’s best pancake house, according to readers
Pancake houses are a way of life in Myrtle Beach, which is why we asked you, our readers, which one you thought was the best.
We took the 17 best pancake houses selected by the staff at The Sun News in 2019, and asked you to vote for your favorites.
Now, the votes are in and the clear winner is Eggs Up Grill on 38th Avenue. Out of 106 votes, Eggs Up Grill got the most with 43 votes. In second place came Dino’s House of Pancakes with 8 votes, in third was Johnny D’s Waffle House & Bakery with 7 votes, and in fourth was Golden Griddle Pancake House with 6.
Despite the name, pancake houses serve more than just pancakes, and that is absolutely the case with Eggs Up Grill, which is known for serving eggs 14 ways from benedicts to omelets. Everything is made to order including their waffles, home fries and specialty corned beef hash made from the founder’s recipe.
Of course, you’ll have plenty of fluffy, buttermilk pancakes to choose from. If you’re in the mood for something salty and sweet, their Red, White and Bacon Pancakes come with bits of bacon mixed in the pancake batter, are topped with strawberries and powdered sugar, and come with a side of – you guessed it – more bacon.
Our reader polls are not scientific; they are for fun! Thank you to our readers for taking part.
