After the new year is rung in with shining lights and bubbling drinks, many foodies will be discussing the best places around to celebrate. 21 Main at North Myrtle Beach, across from Barefoot Landing, is a dining experience that makes every day feel like its own little celebration.
Each evening the steak house lights up and illuminates the head of the street, often with live music playing to beckon shoppers from the sidewalks. Guests can also use the traffic circle to stop in front of the restaurant and drop off some of their party before parking.

A sushi bar welcomes those walking through the front doors with a shimmering waterfall behind it. While the smartly dressed servers of the front display 21 Main’s refined style, the kitchen is where the magic happens. The restaurant is proud to create their menu from scratch, from the appetizers down to the desserts. This flexibility also allows occasional menu changes to keep up with the season.
Once seated, guests are given multiple menus to explore, including the main list of entrees, the sushi, and an extensive wine list to perfect your meal. 21 Main also has daily specials like the catch of the day, which can be seared ahi tuna, or even a special dessert such as a blackberry merlot sorbet.
For curious customers, each award-winning menu item is indicated, including 21 Main’s Lobster Bisque that won awards two years in a row at the Grand Strand’s Souper Supper event. The lobster bacon macaroni and cheese is a side that was awarded 1st place in the 2016 Taste of the Town competition. Smoked gouda cheese and generous chunks of lobster in this decadent version of a southern favorite means it’s an award well deserved.
All the steak entrees are cooked to customer preference and come with specific sides, such as the tender filet beef tips served with a blend of mushrooms and onions and topped with fluffy whipped potatoes. Guests can also choose from a selection of cuts like ribeye or filet mignon.
These then can have sides added to them, which are large enough to share though delicious enough to want to hoard.
Throughout the years, 21 Main has developed a reputation for being high class without being stuffy. The restaurant is a lovely place for date nights, but it isn’t out of place for families to be seen either. It is also a popular location to have small events, thanks to the personal dining rooms on the second floor.
With it’s multiple awards and two opposing cuisines plus occasional events, 21 Main demonstrates how to balance class with comfort while also contributing to community.
