11 hot brunch spots in Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand

Where to eat brunch in Myrtle Beach
Where to eat brunch in Myrtle Beach

Brunch is in many ways, the perfect meal.

Main course can be a combination of sweet (why wait for dessert) and vitamin-packed savories such as chicken or eggs. You don’t have to get up early to eat it, and often it is quite acceptable to accompany it with a delicious Mimosa, Bloody Mary, or other drink as well as coffee. Although brunch is often associated with weekends, Saturday and Sunday, when it is possible for all to sleep in, here in the land of vacationers and retired folk,

several of these spots offer brunch meals during the week as well.

According to Famous Toastery’s Tim McGinnis, “Brunch is more than just a meal, it is a state of mind.”

Of the eleven included brunch spots, only three, Chestnut Hill, Hook and Barrel, and House of Blues, restrict brunches to Sunday. (They are primarily dinner spots) Although Tupelo Honey serves brunch type items all during the week, it has special (not-to-be-missed) brunch menus for Saturday and Sunday. The same is true of Salt Water Creek Café—some brunch type items every day, but a true brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday.

We spoke to each of these spots to be sure we had the latest information on their offerings so you could enjoy anticipating their delights while making your plans. Although these establishments are not the only brunch spots I chose these for their consistently outstanding food and service and unique in some cases, offerings beyond simple pancake and or waffle specialties.

Although the Grand Dunes location of Croissants and its new sister Restaurant Hook and Barrel are relatively new, I am already hearing glowing reports about their food. I recommend making a reservation for any visit, since the last time I checked, there was a thirty-minute wait for walk-ins. They range in location from the North to the South End of the beach are listed alphabetically for your reference.
