Saying goodbye can be a positive way for a closing business to thank its community one last time. One Pawleys Island restaurant did just that.

Beach Burgers & BBQ closed its doors this weekend. A Pawleys Island Peeps Facebook group member posted a photo of the eatery with a small chalkboard in front with the announcement on it.

“Closed,” The sign read. “Thank you all so much for your business and support! For five years! T+M”.

The restaurant was known for its burgers but also served pancakes, chicken and waffles, bacon-wrapped hot dogs and many other dishes. Beach Burgers & BBQ also had a menu of dog-friendly foods too.

Residents and former patrons alike took to social media to mourn the restaurant’s closure.

The restaurant’s Facebook page no longer appears active; however, its website and Instagram page remain online. Beach Burgers & BBQ was located at 13088 Ocean Highway on Pawleys Island.
