Want to volunteer for Myrtle Beach’s PGA Tour golf tournament? Here’s how to sign up
The PGA Tour will host a golf tournament in Myrtle Beach for the second year. Professional golfers navigated through 72 holes of play and different fauna during the Myrtle Beach Classic in 2024, with attendees watching the action.
Part of organizing the tournament included numerous volunteers assisting organizers with duties such as hushing the crowd, walking scorers and other responsibilities. Volunteers will once again be a part of hosting the 2025 Myrtle Beach Classic at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club.
The Myrtle Beach Classic will again have volunteers and is accepting new sign-ups and returning volunteers from the 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic. Registration opens on different days for first-time volunteers versus returning ones. Returning volunteers can start registering January 15, 2025, and newcomer sign-ups begin February 5, 2025.
Myrtle Beach Classic Tournament Director Darren Nelson did not return a request for comment before publication.
The tournament has several different volunteer positions available. Volunteers can serve as gallery managers, helping quiet crowds and direct foot traffic during play. Participants can serve as walking scorers, standard bearers, and shot locators, among other positions. The tournament website lists several available positions for volunteers.
While the tournament will also have youth volunteers between 13 and 18, certain positions have age requirements to sign up for.
Volunteers will also pay a fee for participating. The cost will cover the expense of what the volunteers wear—such as a polo shirt and hat—during the tournament. According to the Myrtle Beach Classic website, volunteers must work at least 18 hours during the tournament and wear grey pants or shorts. The 2025 tournament runs May 8-11.
