Heron Point Golf Club had been set to close on Dec. 14, but less-than-ideal weather and sporadic play led course operators to the decision to shut it down a few days early. It shut down on Nov. 28 after being open since 1988.

Carolina Country Club in Loris has also shut down recently after being open for 57 years. That course is nine holes and is owned by Herman Spivey, who says he and his wife are retiring. Spivey told Blondin he isn’t sure what he’s going to do with the property.
