1 p.m. -- Myrtle Beach gets the ball first but quarterback Luke Doty is sacked on the second play and two runs go nowhere. The Seahawks punt and Greer takes over at the Myrtle Beach 30 after a good runback.

1:15 p.m. -- The Seahawks stop Greer senior quarterback Matthew Huff on a fourth down at the 5-yard line and take over on downs.

1:25 -- A 20-yard completion on third down from Doty to Wyatt Roache to the Myrtle Beach 40 converts a third down, but Doty is sacked on a blitz by defensive back Malakhi Saunders leading to a punt. Greer taking over on its own 20.

1:30 p.m. -- A scoreless first quarter ends with Greer in the midst of a drive that began at its 20 and has reached the Myrtle Beach 40.

1:40 p.m. -- Consecutive sacks by senior linebackers Michael Brown and Salim Sessions sandwiched around a 5-yard Greer penalty drive the Yellow Jackets back 24 yards from the Myrtle Beach 40 and force a punt. A rare illegal touching penalty negates a 15-yard catch by Roache on Myrtle Beach’s ensuing possession leading to a Seahawks punt. Greer takes over at the Myrtle Beach 43.

1:45 p.m. -- Greer 7, Myrtle Beach 0: Greer gets on the board first on a 34-yard touchdown reception by senior running back Dre Williams. Quarterback Matthew Huff took a couple steps to his right after a shotgun snap and threw to his left to Williams, who picked up a couple blocks and raced to the end zone untouched. Greer 7-0.

1:50 p.m. -- Myrtle Beach 7, Greer 7: Myrtle Beach ties the game on a blocked punt that was recovered for a touchdown. A Myrtle Beach punt pinned Greer at its own 15, and a sack shared by senior defensive end J.B. Favorite and senior linebacker Michael Brown for a loss of 6 yards forced a punt attempt, which was blocked by junior Xayvion Knox and recovered on the goal line by junior J.J. Dent. Myrtle Beach 7, Greer 7.

2 p.m. -- Myrtle Beach sophomore defensive back T.J. Auston was credited with an interception on a deep pass at the Myrtle Beach 5-yard line. He had tight coverage on the receiver and wrestled the ball away from him, though a television replay showed Auston did not come down with full control of the ball and it hit the ground. Myrtle Beach is forced to punt after three plays and Greer takes over at the Myrtle Beach 32 with 1:45 remaining in the half.

2:05 -- Greer 14, Myrtle Beach 7: Greer takes a 14-7 lead on a 21-yard touchdown pass from Huff to freshman receiver Jaleel Skinner in single coverage on a fade pattern to the left side of the end zone with just 47 seconds remaining in the first half.

2:10 p.m. -- Greer 14, Myrtle Beach 10: A 21-yard field goal by Chad Toone with 4 seconds remaining in the first half pulls Myrtle Beach within four points at 14-10. A 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct on Skinner for spiking the ball after his touchdown pushed the kickoff back 15 yards and a good return by Jermani Green set Myrtle Beach up at the Greer 45 with 41 seconds left in the half. A 37-yard reception by Green down the right sideline and 8-yard scramble to the 4 by Doty three plays later set up the field goal.

2:20 p.m. -- Myrtle Beach has just 86 yards of offense on 27 plays at halftime while holding Greer to 140 yards on 31 plays. The Seahawks have no yards rushing on 14 carries, which include a couple sacks of Doty, and Doty is 8 of 13 for 86 yards, including three for 41 yards to Green. The Seahawks have four sacks: 1.5 by Michael Brown, one each by Salim Sessions and Will Walton, and half a sack by J.B. Favorite. Specials teams has helped the Seahawks stay close to the Yellow Jackets, with a blocked punt for their TD and good kickoff return to set up their field goal.

2:40 p.m. -- The Seahawks force a punt on Greer’s opening possesion of the second half following a third-down sack by Salim Sessions. Myrtle Beach begins its first possession of the second half on its 28.

2:50 p.m. -- Myrtle Beach 17, Greer 14: The Seahawks take the lead on a 4-yard Doty touchdown run that capped a 72-yard drive, as Doty and the offense heated up. On the touchdown run, Doty faked a handoff up the middle to Green up the middle and sprinted to the left side, picking up blocks to secure the corner by receivers Dylan Lane and Da’Ron Finkley.

3 p.m. -- Myrtle Beach 24, Greer 14: A Green 14-yard TD run gives the Seahawks a 10-point lead with 2:43 left in the third quarter. The Seahawks offense has picked up its pace and drove 46 yard in seven plays for the score. Green slipped a couple tackles through the right side of the line en route to the end zone.

3:05 p.m. -- Myrtle Beach 31, Greer 14: A Xayvion Know interception sets Myrtle Beach up at the Greer 24-yard line, and on fourth-and-9 Doty hits Wyatt Roache behind the defense over the middle for a 23-yard touchdown pass.


3:10 p.m. -- Myrtle Beach 31, Greer 21: Jaleel Skinner gets his second TD reception of the game, this one 66 yards after beating a cornerback and safety down the left sideline. We’re headed to the fourth quarter.

3:30 p.m. -- Myrtle Beach 37, Greer 21: Doty and Roache connect for their second TD of the second half on an 11-yard throw to the back right corner of the end zone that capped a 70-yard drive early in the fourth quarter. An interception on a tremendous play by defensive lineman McZavion Holley was negated by a defensive holding penalty during the drive. Holley batted a Doty pass into the air, caught it, and returned it about 20 yards to the Myrtle Beach 45. But the penalty moved the ball to the Greer 8 and Myrtle Beach capitalized.

3:45 p.m. -- An interception by junior defensive lineman Quamil Spells with 5 minutes to play on a pass that was batted at the line by J.B. Favorite may have sealed Myrtle Beach’s win. Austin Randall records Myrtle Beach’s third interception with 1:32 to play.

4 p.m. -- Myrtle Beach wins the state championship 37-21.
