New stores, restaurants, attractions coming to Myrtle Beach complex

More than 20 new stores, attractions and restaurants are opening this year at Broadway at the Beach.

The additions range from big attractions such as WonderWorks, a science attraction that opened Monday in a building that looks like it’s upside down, to small shops and eateries, according to information from representatives for Burroughs & Chapin Co. Inc., which owns Broadway.

The complex, which has more than 120 stores, restaurants and attractions, refreshes its lineup every year, but this time also brought in several new restaurants, including Capriz and Carlos’ n Charley’s Restaurant, to replace eateries that have operated since Broadway opened in 1995.

About a half a dozen new tenants already have opened: WonderWorks; Legends in Concert; Good Time Charlie’s restaurant; FantaSea, a coastal home accessories specialty store; Lucy Lou’s, which sells handbags and accessories, and Caribongo, a T-shirt shop.

Five more will open in the next week to 10 days: Carlos’ n Charley’s Restaurant; Yours and Mayan, a fair trade jewelry organization inspired by the Mayan and Guatemalan cultures; Boardwalk Winery; Allure and Palmetto Paradise.

About 10 more stores and restaurants will open each week from mid-April to early June: Flip Flop Shop, Crabby Jack’s General Store, Reigning Cats and Dogs, SOL, Everyday is a Holiday, Devo Olive Oil Co., Capriz restaurant, Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, Baja Bistro and Froyoz, a yogurt shop.
