Dance floor is hopping at Senor Frog's

Sounds | Looking for somewhere fun to go this spring? Why not head to the party place where anything can happen - Senor Frog's? You'll hear mostly Top 40 tunes alongside some hip-hop and dance music. You'll hear live music on nights when the band plays. And get your fill of Latin music on Sunday nights during Latin dance night.

Sights | Inside Senor Frog's, you'll see party goers who aren't afraid to let themselves go and throw caution to the wind. Most patrons are in their early to mid-20s, but you'll find people in their 30s, too. Basically, the crowd consists of people who want to have fun.

The colorful interior of Senor Frog's is bright red, yellow and green. Paintings of frogs chillin' on the beach and crazy signs are plastered across the walls. In the front of the establishment, there's a room with a pool table, but the back of the club is where all the action takes place. The deejay cranks up after 10 p.m., and it doesn't take long before the dance floor gets packed with people moving and shaking to the music.

If you need a break from dancing, there are plenty of tables and chairs, or snag a bikini bottom bar stool at the bar. A VIP section with leather couches is also available. The outdoor patio is a great spot to sit, too. It overlooks the water, and depending on the night, you can enjoy live music. You'll usually hear live music on the back deck during weekends.

Story | Senor Frog's is owned and operated by Grupo Anderson's. The very first Senor Frog's opened in Mazatlan, Mexico in 1969. Since then, more than a dozen locations popped up throughout Mexico and the Western Caribbean. In 2005, the first Senor Frog's in the United States opened right here in Myrtle Beach at Broadway at the Beach. The party has been going strong ever since.

Style | Party goers at Senor Frog's wear anything from shorts and sandals to cute little dresses. It's a casual place, so you'll fit in no matter what you wear. However, no baggy or oversized clothing is allowed. As far as the style of dancing, well to each his own. Just get out there and have fun.

Spending | After 10:30 p.m., you must be 18 years or older to enter. Cover charge ranges from $5 - $10 for those 21 years and older, and from $10 - $20 for those younger than 21. Look for coupons on the Web site www.senorfrogsmyrtlebeach.com. Senor Frog's also offers certain promotions throughout the week with reduced or free cover (i.e.: College Night on Saturdays offer discounts with local college IDs.)

Size does matter inside Senor Frog's - size of your glass, that is. Go for a 10-oz. mug, 18-oz. fishbowl or a 28-oz. drink by the yard. You can snag a yard of beer for five bucks. Yards of mixed drinks are listed at $15.75, with refills $13.75, and you get to keep the yard glass.

You can catch drink specials throughout the week. For example, every Tuesday for Service Industry Night, Senor Frog's has $2 vodka. Jello shots are always two bucks.
