Vehicle fire blocks part of 501 southbound

A vehicle that was on fire is blocking part of 501 southbound in Myrtle Beach Tuesday evening.

The incident happened near the Burning Ridge subdivision, and although crews have extinguished the blaze, they are still on the scene.

Some lanes are blocked, and traffic is backed up so motorists should avoid the area if possible.
