He was trying to fix his car after it broke down. Then it got carjacked

A man told police his car was stolen after it broke down on Mineola Avenue in Little River Sunday evening.

Horry County police responded to Luck Avenue and U.S. Highway 17 around 7:45 p.m. where a man told him his brown Buick Century was carjacked, according to an incident report.

The man said that when he was trying to fix his car, an unknown white male approached him and asked if everything was okay.

After the two shared a short conversation regarding the issues with the car, the suspect pushed the man to the ground, jumped in the car, and drove away, according to the report.

The man told police that a woman had contacted him and stated that the suspect’s name was possibly Ron Stallings, and that he was “driving up and down Highway 50,” the report says.

Police have been unable to locate the suspect and car as of 5 p.m. Monday.
