THE LOWDOWN
Drifters Saloon is one of those places on the Grand Strand that enjoys a pretty good location on the beach. It’s not too close to the ocean that it’s full of tourists, but it’s also not too far inland where it’s only locals. Known for a long time as a Cleveland Browns bar, Drifters provides plenty to do throughout the year. Two nice pool tables welcome patrons in at the front door. (They don’t actually welcome you in, but you know what we mean!) Toss in some darts and a few bar games and Drifters is a nice place to grab some drinks and play a few games with friends. It is broken into a front and back section, and we just about never make it to the back section because we run into someone we know in the front section. Well, this assignment changed that. Head back to the second section and you’ll find a nice area for conversation and some games to keep a fun bar atmosphere. Happy Hour here is from 4-8 p.m. Monday through Friday with $2.25 Domestic bottles,$3.50 well drinks, and $2.50 16-ounce drafts. Everyday prices include $5 Rumplemintz, $4 Jager shots, $3 Fireball shots, and $3.50 vodka. Try their food special weekdats from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., which includes deluxe cheeseburgers, a BLT or a chili dog, whcih all come with fries and a drink.
TIPS
