A) Uhh, yeah? Kind of. I’ve lived here every summer since I was a kid. Born in the D.C. and Maryland area, but I’ve been here about 10 1/2 years.
Q) Favorite part about Myrtle Beach?
A) Just the difference in tourism. The beach and the local things you can do. A lot of things people don’t see especially when you’re raised here.
Q) Biggest difference between D.C. and Myrtle Beach?
A) Culture, probably, is the big thing. It’s definitely less of a rat race down here.
Q) First job?
A) First job, I had two at the same time I was working at Outback Steakhouse in here North Myrtle, when I was 14, and I was working on the beach doing parasail and banana boat.
Q) How long have you been a bartender?
A) About eight years. The place that I worked before, there were no bartenders, so the servers always made their own drinks. started learning that way and always liked that atmosphere better than waiting tables.
Q) Favorite thing to drink?
A) I like Crown straight.
Q) If you get truly bad service is it ok to stiff the bartender?
A) Nah, it’s never ok to stiff your bartender but, it’s definitely ok to tell him what he’s doing wrong.
Q) Best trait to have behind the bar?
A) Being good with people. You can suck at your job, but as long as you’re good with people and then people feel comfortable to tell you that you made a bad drink.
Q) Best way to get a bartender’s attention?
A) Eye contact and...be respectful...that’ll always make me come to you.
Q) Signature drink?
A) It’s called “Liquid Marijuana.” It’s got, Captain Morgan, Malibu, Midori, Blue Curacao, and pineapple juice.
