Suck Bang Blow celebrates its 20th Anniversary

And the category is…verbs that make your parents uncomfortable. The answer?

Suck Bang Blow celebrates its 20th Anniversary with a mega blowout party Friday July 1 and Saturday July 2.

On Friday, get ready for Overdrive at 7 p.m. and Power Born Rebellion at 10 p.m.

Saturday will feature Jasmine Cain at 7 p.m. and Rebel Son at 10 p.m. Motorcycle games all day with rooftop bars open for business.

Visit for more information.

Annual Boat Parade

The fun continues on Saturday with the Annual Boat Parade at 5 p.m. The parade begins at Garden City Point at 5 p.m (high tide) and winds through the inlet, past the MarshWalk and south to Morse Park Landing.

On Monday July 4, be dazzled (not bedazzled, there was a space there) with a fireworks show on the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk at 10 p.m. After enjoying the annual Boat Parade (see above) and relaxing with family and friends and talking about Trump and ‘Merica, head on down to the Inlet for the Annual Fourth of July Fireworks on the MarshWalk, the Grand Strand’s largest aerial fireworks show. Starting at 10 p.m., the sky will fill with colors of red, white, blue and beyond for an incredible, awe-inspiring 20 minute fireworks show.

Be sure to get there early though, because you KNOW the entire population of the Grand Strand will be in attendance and you don’t want to spend the evening staring at your neighbor’s mother-in-law’s back sweat. Snag yourself a good parking spot, sit down for a relaxing meal, and then sip on some cocktails while enjoying live music until the show begins.

5th Annual Cupcake Eating Contest

Speaking of cupcakes, it’s time, once again, for the 5th annual Cupcake Eating Contest.

Competition participants, 18 years and older (it’s the bible belt; you know how we feel about underage cupcake binging) are invited to “have their [cup] cake and eat it too” during this cupcake eating marathon.

The event will be held at Heroes Harbor located at Broadway at the Beach on Monday from 2-4 p.m. Contestants will have five minutes to eat as many cupcakes as they can beginning at 3 pm. $25 to sign up, with all proceeds benefitting the Reggie Sanders Foundation, PLUS – each contestant will receive a FREE Cupcake Eating Contest T-Shirt. Come for the nausea, stay for the T-shirt!

Scott Stapp

On Tuesday, July 5, SCOTT STAPP - yes, the guy from Creed - will be at The Boathouse Waterway Bar & Grill, singing, dancing, and taking people higher. Sacrifice a Tuesday night and greet Mr. Stapp with arms wide open, and get down there for an awesome show. See page 12 for an interview with Scott Stapp.
