Setting the Table

With a vintage style that is fun and perfect for the beach, Lulu’s Café has been a convenient and delicious restaurant in Myrtle Beach to enjoy breakfast and lunch at for a few years now. Summer, of course, brings more customers to Lulu’s and in turn they extend their hours into the night.

This café is hard to miss when driving down Ocean Boulevard, noticeable either by the colorful and cheerful mural on the side or the beautiful neon cursive illuminating the sidewalk below. The interior is just as inviting and vibrant, with numerous tables inside and out, plus stools at the bar.

The ocean is visible through a couple of palm trees across the street, so it’s understandable that many guests would enjoy sitting in the sun. This option is especially popular in the morning hours, when visitors like to fill up on a good meal before hitting the beach.

Down the Hatch

Lulu’s breakfast features all the deliciousness of waffles, French toast and eggs, even a few biscuit meals. Oatmeal and fruit bowls are available as well along with juices and hot beverages, including coffee that can have different flavors added. The diner is also known for their breakfast cocktails, such as their popular rendition of a Bloody Mary, which for some may be the perfect way to start the day.

Appetizers, baskets, burgers and sandwiches will fuel guests through the rest of their vacation, like the sesame encrusted ahi tuna sandwich that has been topped with a squeeze of wasabi mayonnaise for a delightful kick. The meals (except the salads) come with fries or pasta salad on the side, or for an extra $1.50 Lulu’s will use fresh fruit or their amazing house made potato chips instead.

Sometimes the wait can be a little longer than expected, but the servers are cheerful and do what they can to help. Summer is especially sure to keep things busy and Lulu’s plans on keeping up with everyone through events and specials that are constantly changing.

Check, Please

Breakfast food, a huge part of Lulu’s traffic, is available from when they open daily at 7 a.m. until noon. Prices range from about $5 to $12, not including drinks. The entrees are between roughly $6 and $11, which can change depending on drinks and sides. All the kids meals are just under $5 (or a little extra for fruit rather than fries).

Lulu’s is now open until 10 at night every day, broken up between 4 p.m.-7 p.m. by happy hour. This café has retro charm and low-country cheer with a great location in Myrtle Beach.
