THE LOWDOWN

8th Avenue Tiki, open noon to 2 a.m., and sometimes opens earlier depending on special occasions at the old Pavilion site, specializes in authentic Mediterranean dushes with an unbeatable view of the Atlantic Ocean. The back patio is a multi-layered platform with more than ample seating for friends to lounge comfortably while hearing the ocean waves lap along the shoreline at night. Music soothes patrons enjoying the view and enjoying some of the bar’s favorites, like 25 darft beers, up to 90 different liquors and their specialty —the original “Jeffery” shot, which contains 18 liquors, juices and soda. Enjoy happy hour from 4-7 p.m. daily with $2 domestic bottles and draft, $3 well drinks and more.

TIPS

Stick around and try their mystery beer on tap and win a free round of drinks if you guess it correctly. Play some old Nintendo games while trying some of their upscale bar food, including their 8th Avenue Schnitzel and ‘the best hummus on the East Coast.” Be prepared — celebs have been known to swing by, including the cast of Magic Mike XXL. Try a frozen drink — a mojito, a margarita, a fruit drink or a dessert — while chilling on the back patio. With live music on Thursdays and a ping pong table ready for action, 8th Avenue Tiki will take you away from the bustle of the beach and put anyone — from a local to a tourist — in a tropical destination.
